Picture of the Day : Rio de Janeiro’s Skyline view from the Pão de Açúcar (En/Fr)

This photos was taken from one of Rio de Janeiro’s best viewpoints, the Pão de Açúcar.  The best time to go is for the sunset when the lighting becomes something magical.  To get to the top, large cable cars have been installed which transport the passengers up to two different heights.  This photo was taken from the perspective of those cable cars.  From the top you can see out far and wide.  Rio de Janeiro offers one of the most unique skylines of any city in the world, encompassing mountains and beach all at once.  The accessibility of nature along with Rio’s unbeatable nightlife and friendly inhabitants, make this city one of the most famous destinations in the world.

We had looked forward to our visit  and the city definitely did not disappoint.  Joanna had long dreamed of seeing this viewpoint from atop the Pão de Açúcar.  We were lucky that the sky was perfectly clear for our visit and it wasn’t even crowded as we feared.  We arrived at the top around 4:30 with plenty of time to see the colors and lighting change.  An unforgettable moment in an unforgettable city.

 

 

Cette photo a été prise depuis le meilleur mirador, le Pão de Açúcar. Le meilleur moment pour y aller est le coucher de soleil quand la lumière devient magique. Pour accéder au sommet, deux téléphériques transportent les passagers à deux différents points de vue. Cette photo a été prise depuis la station d’arrivée des téléphériques. Depuis le sommet vous avez une vue à 360°. Rio de Janeiro offre la plus unique skylines des villes dans le monde, qui englobe montagnes et plages. L’accès à la nature, ainsi que l’incomparable vie nocturne et la gentillesse de ses habitants, font de cette ville l’une des plus célèbres destinations dans le monde.

Nous étions impatients de visiter cette ville et elle ne nous a pas déçue. Joanna a longtemps rêvé de cette vue du sommet du Pão de Açúcar. Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir une vue parfaitement dégagée et l’endroit n’était pas aussi bondé que nous le craignions. Nous sommes arrivés au sommet vers 16:30 avec tout le temps nécessaire pour voir la lumière et les couleurs changées. Un moment inoubliable dans une ville inoubliable.
